Iran with thousands of years old, is placed historical and religious monuments and many prophets and celebrities have lived which their tombs are religious destinations for Iranian and other tourists from all around the world. There are three important Shrines in Iran. Religious Tours has been from before centuries and its date backs to history of all religions. Generally, religious tourism related to any religious experiences in tourism destinations. The tourists may go to religious place several times. They usually go to shrines, churches, temples, monastery, tombs and etc.
Imam Reza’s (PBUH) holy shrine in Mashhad is the biggest, most important and prominent religious center of Iran that consists of the most features of Persian-Islamic architecture that many pilgrims from Iran and all around the world go to this place every year.
Imam Reza’s (PBUH) holy body buried in the Hamid Ebn Ghahbe garden beside the grave of Abbasid Khalife Harun with the martyrdom of Imam Reza in 203 AH in Tous and in fact, the first building of this holy shrine was the Harun Alrashid monument then the new holy shrine established on that wall and Tous changed to Mashhad-Al-Reza. Shrine means a square place which consists of the holy monument such as dome, shrine’s stone, holy shrine.
Shah Cheragh is a famous holy shrine of Imam Mousa Kazem’s (7th Shia Imam) son, Mir Seyed Ahmad, who is the brother of Imam Reza (peace be upon him), many Shias go to Shiraz for pilgrimage this place and it is one of the most significant sights of this city.
The first building of Shah Cheragh holy shrine antiquity dated back to Azdodole Deilami who was one of the Ale Boye kings and the new buildings repaired and linked to the main courtyard was established in Fars Atabakan, Shah Ismaeil Safavi and Nader Shah Afshar periods. Two main gates are in south and north of holy shrine decorated by 2 big tiled entrances and linked to the vast courtyard of the shrine. The Shah Cheragh holy shrine is located in the west of the courtyard and his brother’s shrine is located in the northeastern of this place.
The beauty of this building is increased by use of small colored mirrors, tiling, and Persian and Arabic hand-writings in the shrine. There are some rooms decorated with mosaic tiling around the yard. Iron columns of the shrine decorated with exquisite wood, a large integrated flat roof inlaid with wood and marble pulpit sculpted are the other beauties of this building.
Qom is resting place of the 7th Imam of Shia, Imam Mousa Kazem’s (PBUH) daughter, Hazrat Masumeh (PBUH). This magnificent building is located in the center of the city and the history of the building back to the third century AH.
Asha’ari’s sons put a canopy of mats after on the burial of Hazrat Masumeh’s holy body (peace be upon her) at the current location where named Babolan .After a while in the mid-third century AH, Hazrat Zainab daughter of Imam Jawad (AS) built the dome on this building by brick, stone and stucco.
This building has been changed during different and rose to glory in the Safavid era Today, this shrine consists of a shrine, the dome, porch, courtyard and finial with most of the decorations, including bas or use different colored marble plinth, or mosaic tiling in seven colors in wall surfaces, mirror arch and wall, arches and other architectural decorations such as arts and painting on stucco silver etc.
